download speed
I have 100Mbps service from my cable company. If I connect my computer to my cable modem (via Cat 5 cable) and run a speed test, I get 110Mbps download speed and 12Mbps upload speed.
But if I connect my computer to my WNDR3400 router (via Cat 5 cable) and from the router to the cable modem (via Cat 5 cable) and then run a speed test, I get 65Mbps download and 12Mbps upload.
Why is there such a download speed loss?
Hi bgt48,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. The WNDR3400 may not be able to go beyond 100Mbps since it only has 10/100 Ethernet ports.
3. Have tried changing the MTU values? The links below may help out.
