EX7300: fast lane purpose

I do not understand what's the purpose of the fast lane: the 2.5GHz is slower than 5GHz so why would I want to connect the extender to router in 2.4GHz and the devices to the extender in 5GHz when the connection of my ISP (actual is 700Mbps) is not matcehd by the connection between externder and router?

  • Its usually to reduce latency. If you're doing something that needs lower latency, fastlane can help because of the dedicated backhaul.

And sometimes it can help if the extender is at the very edge of the range and 5ghz doesn't reach but 2.4ghz does. Then you can use the 2.4ghz as backhaul with 5ghz as fronthaul.
