"When you enable FastLane Technology.............." is a quote from netgear's wersite.(https://kb.netgear.com/24662/What-is-FastLane-Technology-and-how-do-I-configure-it)
There are 2 options available when you enable/install FastLane.
I live in a cottage about 150yds. from my Netgear router and am trying to improve my wi-fi signal with an ALFA wifi extender (awus036ach). The ALFA extender works quite well but there is always room for improvement.
The 2.4 GHz signal has a much better "throw" (distance wise) than the 5 GHz signal.
I want to try both Options to see which one works best for my situation, but I can't find the options on Netgear Genie. HELP !!!
Thanx for the reply

Read the "This article applies to:" stuff on the right side of that
KB article.

Because you don't have any device (extender) which has those options?
I can find plenty of other Netdear KB articles which don't apply to
your gizmos, too. (Pick a number, (almost) any number.)

I guess you are saying I need to use a NETGEAR extender. I enabled FASTLANE (netgear genie) and it did improve the speed and quality of my Alfa extender !! I guess I will only have the 2 options to experiment with if I purchase a NETGEAR extender.... That sucks.... maybe somebody knows of a work around for the Alfa extender? For now I will just be glad for the additional boost. :)

Guess again? A KB article for various Netgear extenders, which you
don't have, tells you nothing about how to configure your router.> What is FastLane technology in NETGEAR Extenders?
_Not_ "in NETGEAR Routers".
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Configure
FastLane Settings"?I know nothing, but, as I read this stuff, it appears to me that
Netgear uses the term "FastLane" to mean different things in different
contexts. But, in any case, the instructions for extender configuration
are of no use when you're configuring your router, even if both have
"FastLane" in their User Manuals.- MUGWAMPBRODec 26, 2019Aspirant
