Firmware issue?
Was told that there's a firmware issue. Modem working with ethernet but no wifi signal going out. Am not willing to shell out more than I paid for the unit for technical support, feels jicky, serious...
Almost impossible to guess what may be going on from so little information.

What does that mean? The wifi LEDs are on?
What about the other LEDs?
Tried the wifi on/off switch? (You would not be the first person to have got that wrong.)

If you own the C6300 listed in your footer, then there is nothing that you can do about the firmware. That is in the hands of your Internet service provider.
