Firmware update c3700

I have owned this router for 15
Months why has there not been a firmware update seriously?

    Its because the ISP's control the firmware. 

    For modems and modem/router combo devices the ISP controls the firmware.  Netgear and other manufacturers do firmware upgrades. But thefirmware changes require certification by the isp which costs $. So the ISP rarely updates them. which is why we usually recommend buying a modem seperate from a router. That way you control the updates and not the ISP.
