Firmware upgrade file incorrect?
My router is registered, and I receoved an email from Netgear advising me to update my firmware. My current version is x.52. When I checked for the upgrade through my router's interface, it reporte...
Thanks. It's registered with Netgear, of course (that's why I received the email notice). Yes, it's a WNDR4300|N750, and you're correct...the flash is an image file. I mistakenly searched for the N600. So, my N750 indeed is current, but Netgear doesn't distinguish the 600/750 in its emails, which simply directs folks to use the update feature in the router setings interface.

What, exactly, does "on the Netgear site" mean to you? netgear.com
is a big place with many firmware kits available. What, exactly, did
you download, from where, exactly?

Searching for an actual model number generally works better.
Netgear doesn't distinguish much of anything in its "Important
Security Update" messages. This leads to much more confusion than
yours, such as when victims can't find any new firmware, or when they
have a cable modem(+router), and thus have no hope of loading any
firmware into the thing. One might wonder if the Netgear folks are
hoping to drive victims to paying support fees, or they're just too lame
to be allowed out in public, or what. A quick skim through these forums
will find any number of related complaints/questions.
