Firmware V1.0.1.78_1.0.50 Router: AC1759 Smart WiFi Route – Wireless networks not changing pw

Obviously an old problem. Why does NetGear refuse to correct their firmware?I can't remember seeing it here before. Maybe that was long ago, This is an old (2015) mid-range router that isn't likely to get much attention from Netgear. It is also "EOS".

Michael, based on what you say about my router, I have decided not to pursue this further but to start looking for a new router. Thank you for your "prod".

If your Internet service provider has changed our service – highly likely after 10 years – that could be a good idea.
There have been several generations of WiFi since that one came out. There can't be many people who haven't acquired a new mobile phone in that time.
No need to go with the latest and greatest. Just look for a router that meets your needs. It could help to start here:

Plug in your needs then check back here for reports on the things you are considering, but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments. So look at reviews on Amazon, for example.

Michael., hope I respond in the right place ... I find this forum somewhat difficult to understand when it comes to Q&A format.
First, the complaints about what I asked about are quite old, and were not even corrected then. So, with no further ado, I put this squarely on NetGear.
Second, I will look beyond NetGear for a new router, but I am not at all excluding NetGear.
Third, I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say by "but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments." Have I complimented too much???? If so, I will "rudify" my comments from now on 🙂
Fourth, I have been very satisfied with my outdated R6400. Still am. It covers my whole house (not big, but not small), it has almost never needed any reset or such, and it looks cool (compliment!!!).
Since I am very busy taking care of a sick wife, it may take a while before you fear from me again about the new router. But, thank you for your interest in my issue. Seriously very grateful!
