firmware v1.1.10.66 won't load up
Cannot install newest firmware v1.1.10.66. After downloading file, router crashes when trying to upload when using an eithernet connection.

- Apparently Netgear fixed the bug in Firmware 1.1.0.66 1.0.1 and it now loads
- ok from Genie Firmware upgrade

What device are we talking about? Your footer says R6220v2, but that does not seem to exist in the Netgear system. Maybe it is too new.
What is the current firmware on your device?
How are you doing this firmware download? Through the browser interface or from the support pages?
And what does "router crashes" mean? It reboots? The browser freezes?
What do the LEDs on the thing look like when this happens?

Trying to upgrade R6220 firmware v1.1.10.64 to v1.1.10.66 using the Genie upgrade feature (see screenshot) . Using wired eithernet conn the router downloads the upgrade ok and when it's upgrading the router, eventually it stalls and says the upgrade failed. Upgrade freezes the internet momentarily with only the power button on. After unplugging the eithernet cable, wi-fi resumes working as normal but did not upgrade to the latest firmware. Seems to be an issue in the upgrade software.

I hope I have interpreted that message correctly.
A first thought is that you might find it easier to read the release notes and follow the instructions there:
R6220 / R6230 Firmware Version 1.1.0.66 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Download the firmware and then install it.
By the way, a good way to get screen grabs is to use Alt+Print Screen. That way you get rid of the surrounding clutter and home in on the topmost Window.

Still won't upload. Appears something wrong with the file.

"won't" is not a useful description. It does not say what you did.
It does not say what happened when you did it. As usual, showing actual
actions with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...)
can be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

Which "the file"? What, exactly, are you doing?

If you're usng a Genie app, then I'd switch to a web browser. (Less
unreliable software that way.)
