I have never done this before i bought a 5port Ethernet cable out let i am getting lost how do i add this as extra ports the ones on my Modem is not enough Many thanks Regard Jean

Hello so sorry i am still trying to work this out i have a optus modem it has all its ports full
so i bought gigabit ethernet swich so i could add another port i must be doing something wrong
as the computer i connected it to in another room doest work i have plugged the switch into our power
board put the ethernet cable in their and put the end in the computer please tell me where i am wrong

It sound like this anonymous Opus "modem" – there must be more than one model of Optus modem in the world – may be a modem/router. You said earlier:

Is that the same as the "optus modem"? If not you may be in classic "two routers" territory.
