There is only one Netgear AC1000 router that I can find. It is the R6080, pretty well the bottom of the Netgear range. As you say, it has "Fast Ethernet ports". That really means slow ports, stuck as 100 Mbps.
So ThomasfromFL isn't going to get 200 Mbps out of this router. It is amazing that Netgear even released this device in 2017, it is about a decade behind the industry Gigabit Router standard.

Wouldn't that be why they called is the AC1000? Then it should be the AC100

The AC speed is the wireless rating of combining the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz speed.
But you bought a router with only 10/100mbps ports.
So that is the bottleneck in your speed.
