Having issues with R6080 internet/wifi connection. Wired connection still works

Depending on which light we are talking about – there is a row of them on the router – amber certainly signifies 100 Mbps on LAN connections.
But being an basic router, the R6080 doesn't have the same diagnostic indicators as other routers.

Again, it helps to have as much detail as possible. What happens when you try to connect to the wifi?
You need to pin down the problem to the router or the devices you are trying to connect. It is easy to think "router" but this is a two-way process.
There is usually some sort of error message. "Wrong password" for example.
You said earlier that you see "failed to connect to network". That sounds like a problem with the wifi client.
It can help to tell the wifi devices to forget that they ever encountered this wifi client and then to set up the connection again.
If 5 GHz devices work, but you have problems with 2.4 GHz, the router clearly manages to broadcast wifi.
Is the router still using the default SSID for the wifi, or have you changed it? The R6080 isn't fancy enough to have much in the way of "smart" wifi technology to get in the way.

The router defaults to the SSID version of the 2.4Ghz network in case a 5G netowrk setting is not the same. Th only thing I have changed regarding the default settings is the WiFi password. The password for the 5G network and 2.4 GHz network is the same.

And the client side suggestion?

Devices were originally suggesting the 5GHz wifi network. I had them forget the regular 2.4GHz network and was able to connect my devices and smart bulbs to the 2.4GHz network. I believe having my devices forget the 2.4GHz network did the trick and resolved the issue. Internet speed test on my computer and phone are showing a strong connection to the 2.4GHz network (+30Mbps download/ +5.70Mbps upload).
