High Operating Temp Environment
I am looking for a reasonably priced wireless router that can handle temps above 120 degrees. All cabling for the house is in the garage, in LHC AZ, a very hot place in the summer. I could do a fir...

Thank you everyone for your input.
I ended up purchasing a Mikrotik RouterBoard RB2011iL-IN (wired router) for the garage. It is rated at 149 degrees.
I purchased a WNDR4300V2 wireless router for in the house.
It was 116 degrees out the other day, it was 106 degrees in the garage.
Everything is working fine.

Consider this, when ambient temp. is 120, router internal temp is much higher than that.
At least you should think about forced air cooling.

I agree a fan would help, how much in a 120 degree environment, I'm not sure.

Go with one of the Qualcomm based routers like the R7800 or R7500v2 they run much cooler than the Broacom based ones like R8000 and to top it off the qualcomm CPU is much more powerful per MHz and its actually clocked higher on top of that. I did use a WNDR3800 a few years ago abroad where temps hit towards your range and it was fine so if you want a garunteed/tested one this would be it but it is a much older device lol.

I appreciate your input.
I checked the spec's for both the 3800 and 7800, they are both spec'd at 104 degrees.
You ran the 3800 in a hot environment and had no issues ?
How long did you run in that condition ?

Asus router firmware has a provision for reading tempertures. 3rd party firmware dd-wrt can read cpu, radio chip temps. as well.
As much as you can move air across the router that'll help keeping temp. down.
