horrible Netgear genie and parental controls

Yes you remove Genie and log in the router by a browser by loging into 192.168.1.1
Genie is Netgear's network management software...do you have something against it? why did you refer to it as a malicious software? did it do something horrible to your network?
to use parental control with Netgear hardware you need to set up an opendns account....i dont know the technical reason behind that but that's how it is with Netgear hardware
without netgear genie installed on your pc or laptop, you can't run parental control even after setting up the opendns account
