No problem. The issue with my setup was that I was using a router/modem combo. To fix my problem, I had to buy a dedicated router, and switch the modem/router combo to only modem mode.
After I had one dedicated modem and one dedicated router, I was able to mac address clone the router (or change the routers MAC address). Once I changed the routers MAC address, my public IP address changed. I can repeat this process whenever I want.
You can buy a router for ~$50. MAC address cloning is the easiest way to change your public IP address.

Did you ever figure out how to do this? I feel as if I’m in the same boat. Could use any help as I’m sure you know this is a massive headache haha!

- BobbafettMar 29, 2021AspirantI appreciate the quick response! I’m very inexperienced with the whole cloning thing. So when I get a router would I then connect this to the modem I put in bridge mode? Also by cloning the router Mac does that mean login to the router and check the Mac and clone it to to the modem or do you enter a different Mac ? I don’t think I understand the process completely to be honest.

No problem. I'm not a professional, but I'll try and give the best answer I can based off of my experience.
After you buy and setup the router, here's what I did.
1. Make sure the modem is running in modem only mode, and make sure the router is running in router only mode. (To answer your question, you don't have to put the modem/router into bridge mode).
2. Log into the router, and find the mac address section. Then change a few numbers/letters in the MAC address field.
3. Restart the router and modem, and you'll have a new IP.
- BobbafettMar 29, 2021AspirantI have Xfinity if this helps.
1. Do you know how to make sure modem is in modem only mode? I thought bridge mode was the way to make it modem only/connect to the router.
2. Also when setting up the router do I connect it via Ethernet to the modem or does it connect Via WiFi?
3.some of these answers may be answered when I get a router. (Tmrw hopefully) but as well as setting up the router do you have to enter all the same credentials from your modem into the router or does it recognize the connection and essentially you just control your network from the router?
I’m not sure exactly how much sense I’m making to anyone but myself. Sorry I’m advanced but again appreciate your quick responses immensely!
