How to connect my WiFi Adapter to the internet

Hi:

I just bought the above adapter to help my older all-in-one HP Pavillion PC accept the higher-level WiFi that I've been using from Comcast, rather than having to buy a new PC. 

It loaded properly and the LED light is on, but I don't think it found my WiFi connection. I don't know how to check that. Can anyone help?
