how to set up 3700v3 as access point

I need to set  my 3700v3 as an access point.
I watched  Youtubes about   AP setup, but all are different.  They  tell me to "Enable AP". Another tells me to "Disable DHCP".  Both then  say  I need to create a new IP address. 
If I try it freezes and refuses access. then I must reboot.
I don't know how to do this right?    How do I do this, disconnect from the primary router, not become a second/competing router,  and be a proper AP?
