How to set up lan-lan cascade with Netgear R6300v2
I'm unclear how to set up lan-lan cascade with Netgear R6300v2. I have tried to leave internet as select automatically, and then changed the lan to be 192.168.0.2, while my main router, and therefor...

both lan and wireless work in AP mode.

So, my steps are:
change the lan ip address as mentioned
turn off dhcp server
turn on wireless ap?
Do I need to have the same wireless broadcasts and/or passwords?
Is there any problem connnecting this to UDM as main router?
Thank.

Turning on AP mode, disables the dhcp server.
You can set them with the same ssid/password as the primary router but it won't be a seamless setup. Devices will tend to be sticky and stay connected to the wireless they initially connected to until it drops/becomes unusable.
I prefer to use different ssids in this instance.

"LAN" = "Local-Area Network", and it includes wired and wireless

Or, you could just employ a widely neglected resource:

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
"Wireless Access Point (AP)".> Do I need to have the same wireless broadcasts and/or passwords?
No.

If "UDM" is a router, then it should work.- mikeshickJan 05, 2021Aspirant
Thanks. Unfortunately, nothing including the manual helped me figure out what sequence I was supposed to take. I was running in circles trying to connect pc to ap, then router to ap, if wireless ap also provided lan ap....i spent about 8 hours on it and finally got it figured out. No manual, no right up worked that I could find.
if i recall, what worked:
UDM lan to Netgear wan
Netgear Lan to PC
modify Netgear Lan to 192.168.0.2
Netgear AP activated
Not positive, but think that worked.
