And all those years I have been using, I was wondering how my speed never went above 40Mpbs. :(
Is the information on the box misleading? How will this modem achieve 340Mbps yet alone 100 if it is operating on 2.4 ghz?
Comcast is sending me a free modem so I will sell this and be done with it.

Between network overhead, antenna's used, interference, etc they're very over rated. You can read more about it here: https://www.duckware.com/tech/wifi-in-the-us.html
In terms of the modem, Netgear can rate it based on the max specs the modem will pull down under ideal circumstances. ISP's rate it for what they'll actually push down via its specs/capabilities. So in theory (and for some ISP's) it'll hit the 340mbps over wired. But Comcast doesn't certify it for that.
Comcast is sending me a free modem so I will sell this and be done with it.
