I am trying to upgrade my firmware for my router
Hi,
I am attempting to upgrade my firmware, but when I try to upload the file I get a popup that reads, "please assign the correct file. The file format is: *.chk". I don't understand what this means. What do I need to do so that I am able to upload the file correctly?
thanks,
Pat

How? Through the browser interface?
Are you sure it is the correct firmware?
The firmware comes as a zipped file. You have to unpack that to get at the .chk file.
It might be easier to let the device update the firmware automatically. The manual explains how to do this:
>>> WNDR3400v3 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
See page 66. You can also find the latest firmware there. But remember to unzip it.
