In the light of day, I closely examined the Advanced menu items in Genie. I discovered "Enable wireless gateway radio." Unclicking those two boxes shut off the WiFi. Job done!
BTW, mine is a C3700 router, which the Associated Products field prevented me from entering., perhaps because it isn't being supported now. Not cool...

I'm afraid that does not tell us which Netgear router you own. There can be several devices with the same firmware number. (Warning, it won't be the same firmware, just the same number.)
If you mean the genie software for a PC, that probably isn't the best place to start.
Many Netgear routers have a simple on/off switch that also doubles as the WiFi indicator.
Other routers have a switch ion the back to turn off the WiFi
Manuals are always a good place to start.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Look at the pages that describe the Hardware Setup.
Check the table LED and button descriptions
