Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN
I have a Bell FiberOP R3000 modem (Firmware Version:33.162L.16) and using it as I router. My laptop has Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300, Dual Band Product Specifications and as per documention the max speed is 450 Mbps. But even when I'm next to modem, I'm getting around 90-110 Mbps. Modem documentation says it supports networking speed upto 2.3 Gbps over Wi-Fi. My internet connection is 500 Mbps when connected by ethernet cable. I know my laptop is old and wireless card is not supported anymore. Will I be able to improve the wifi speed if I buy a Netgear Orbi (RBK50) or do I need to call my ISP? What is wrong?

You won't see more speed by moving to orbi.
Its a limitation of the wireless card as well as a misunderstanding of wireless speeds and how they work.
I'd recommend reading this article :
