Internet speed slows SIGNIFICATLY when connected through router
When my PC is connected directly into the modem (CM1000) my speed test is about 900mbps, when I connect modem and PC to the router (AC1750) the speed is reduced to 150mbps. Please help me!

Thanks everyone for your support, apparently if you use the auto update feature, even when you press the update firmware button, it tells you the firmware is up to date, HOWEVER if you manually look on netgear's website there is a more recent version of the firmware: 1.0.4.126. I manually installed the firmware and I am now getting speeds of 600 mbps (wired), which is much closer to the 900mbps I get off router, and quite honestly good enough. Thanks everyone for their help!

1,2) Router R6400v2, Firmware: V1.04.122_10.0.95 Modem CM1000 Firmware: V7.01.01
3) Factory reset did not seem to help; qos, access control and parental control are all disabled.
4) speed-testing through speedtest.net, comcast, and google
5) Thank you very much, I don't know a lot about what I'm doing.

Putting the r6400 as an access point won't work if its connect to the cm1000.
The cm1000 is a modem only device. There won't be anything acting as dhcp server for the access point.
Does it help if you enable ipv6 on the router?
Have you tired downgrading the firmware a version on the r6400? I've seen a lot of issues on that version.

Ok, so I tried the access point thing and it messed everything up, I ended up having to completely factory reset the router again just to be able to access it again. Downgrading the firmware has not helped. ipv6 also doesn't seem to help.
