Internet speed slows SIGNIFICATLY when connected through router
When my PC is connected directly into the modem (CM1000) my speed test is about 900mbps, when I connect modem and PC to the router (AC1750) the speed is reduced to 150mbps. Please help me!

Thanks everyone for your support, apparently if you use the auto update feature, even when you press the update firmware button, it tells you the firmware is up to date, HOWEVER if you manually look on netgear's website there is a more recent version of the firmware: 1.0.4.126. I manually installed the firmware and I am now getting speeds of 600 mbps (wired), which is much closer to the 900mbps I get off router, and quite honestly good enough. Thanks everyone for their help!

michaelkenward is correct. was it wired you were testing on?
Did you test your speeds with the router in its default configuration after the reset? (not changing anything)
did you try changing ethernet cables?
What device are you testing on?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Netgear's firmware updates.
Now you know why many of us prefer a manual update after checking for new versions from time to time.
If you hang around here, you will see that someone usually posts a message when new firmware arrives for popular devices. The R6400v2 is getting a bit old, at six or seven years, but it crops up here pretty often.
