Hello. I currently have the netgear R6400v2 router and the Arris surfboard SB6141 modem. My ISP is xfinity and I currently have 800mbps download speed as the plan. I currently just updated my router ...
A couple things.
1. You say you have the arris SB6141. Thats a 8x4 modem. Its only going to hit *maybe* 300mbps on xfinity. Its not rated to your 800mbps plan. If you want to hit the speeds that you're paying for, you'll need to upgrade the modem. I'd recommend a docsis 3.1 modem.
2. the R6400v2 is a pretty base model router. You can expect around that 200-300mbps out of its wireless connection. Wired you can hit faster speeds but you'll need to make sure that parental controls, access controls, traffic monitoring, and qos are all disabled. If you had them enabled or this happened after a firmware change, try factory resetting the router. During the install, leave those services disabled. But again, keep in mind, you aren't going to hit faster than that 300mbps (ish) until you update your modem. It might even be the modem bottlenecking you at 200mbps as I'm not sure what xinifty rates that modem to anymore as its a very base model docsis 3.0 device.
