Is It Time to Buy New?

Have had this unit about 5 yrs and it works fine. But there’s hasn’t been an upgrade o”for the firmware for quite awhile. Should I buy new and what’s the best to not kill my budget?

  • Since it is over 5 years old you would probably get much better performance out of a new router.  As far as the best is concerned just buy the best router for your needs that your budget can stand.

Is that accurate?  R6400[v1] or R6400v2?  Look for "Model" on the
product label. Firmware version?  Connected to what?  Internet service
      type, speed?  Modem?

His psychic powers must be much greater than mine.  I don't know if
you need a new car, either.  If your router is currently a bottleneck,
then a better router might improve your experience.  If there were there
actual problems with it, then ...
