Is my old WNDR 4500 slowing me down?
I have a high speed fibre optic connection in Japan with a max speed of 1Gbps. On either the 2GHz or 5GHz band, with or without connecting via NordVPN, my D/L speed tests return anywhere from 15Mbps ...

OK so after the factory reset, the 2GHz band is around 30-40mbps and the 5GHz band is getting just of 100mbps. Are these the kinds of speeds I should expect from this router? Given that I have a 1Gps connection would a newer, faster router likely result in faster speeds? Thanks again.

Sorry!! One more question. My android tv is connect to the router with a new CAT6a cable. Speeds are up to 88Mbps. Shouldn't a wired connection be faster than the 5GHz wifi connection to my PC? Thanks.

Most TVs I have encountered have a LAN port that has a top speed of 100 Mbps. This is plenty fast enough for the traffic that TVs have to handle.
The WNDR4500 range dates from 2013. It has Gigabit Ethernet, mush faster than your TV, but the N900 wifi is several generations behind the curve. A lot has changed in the past decade.
Whether or not it is fast enough for your needs is up to you. Do you find things are running horribly slow on wifi?
