Is there really no way to see the Router Backup .cfg file in human readable form?
Win 10 Pro fully updated. Broadband Internet connection. Home LAN.
In my old DG834/v4 router the backup .cfg file was human readable.
Today I've just attached a DGN2200v4 to my system, manually re-done all the settings, but now I find the backup.cfg file is gobbledygook... Not human readable.
This is a very simple question:
How does the human, get a human readable backup file?
Thanks

Harumph!
From the silence I assume there is no easy way... Or more importantly, no way at all.
For which an explete would be most useful... :-)
Guess I'll just have to use Snagit to do a set of window grabs of the stuff I've configured. :-(
Sigh!

Use a router which produces one?
I don't recall having seen an explanation of why some models do it
one way, while others do it the other. I also don't know whether the
non-text version is raw data or compressed text.> Guess I'll just have to use Snagit to do a set of window grabs of the

I prefer to keep plain-text notes when I do the configuration.
They're very compact and easy to annotate and edit, and they allow easy
copy+paste in a few cases where that's helpful. Also, I've seen cases (involving port forwarding) where not all the
data are displayed in the usual report from the management web site.> Sigh!
Life is hard.
