LB1120 Modem - SIM card locking plate

Hi,
I have a Netgear LB1120 LTE Modem.
I have had to replace the SIM card several times and just noticed that the small metal plate that locks the SIM card in place has become dislodged from its pivot points / hinge pins.
Will this have a serious affect on my ability to properly install a new SIM card and have my modem operate properly?
