Losing 5 GHz and scheduled shutoff no longer works
My WAC104 randomly does not allow me to connect to the 5 GHz side from my iPhone. It works after I reset the router for a while and then I lose it again. I have tried switching the channel from Auto to others to no avail. Also, the wireless shutoff timer no longer works. It is supposed to shut down at midnight but I have been up that late and it hasn’t. This is very frustrating.

What you are talking about could be a firmware issue. But the WAC104 is a wirless access point. I doubt if many people who read this section on General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk and Non-Orbi) will know much about your hardware.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
WiFi Adapters - NETGEAR Communities
No need to repost there, unless you want to – that will just clutter up the place with duplicated messages – but you might find advice there related to your hardware.
I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
