Model AC 1200 R6260 warranty scam
I purchased this back in January of this year, device didnt work and i spent hours on phone with tech support to get it to work.. Tech support never said I needed to call every 3 months to keep device...

Two things. Who did you call? If it was a number you found on a web search, it wasn't Netgear.
Netgear does not post phone numbers you can call. But there are crooks out there who create sites that look like Netgear and will lead you to scam merchants who will demand money. They may also ask for access to your PC. Do that and they can wreak havoc.
On the warranty, you don't need to pay to start the RMA process.

By the way, feel free to trot off to another section if you have the inclination and time to spare. But it isn't necessary. Your question fits in here as well as anywhere.
- I called the number that was on the registration page when I registered my product, its the same number that was listed on the BBB website for netgear as well. Same number thats on the my.netgear website under contact us section.
- Also, you say they dont post phone numbers, but the link you provided Literslly says to call tech support and provides the number.
