Modem or not modem this is the question
Hi there on the coming Friday I got a technician from Xfinity to install my internet and I bought this router. My question is do I need a modem also or this is just enough to access the web?

Thank you everyone for the time dedicated to this silly question, I returned the Netgear router and bought an Arris cable modem and router.

Looking at the Xfinity site, they seem to be one of those naughty ISPs that likes to rent customers a "gateway" for $11 a month.
Netgear sells cable modems such as the C3000 that claim to be "Certified to work with cable Internet providers XFINITY® from Comcast, Spectrum®, Cox® & more". That is just one of many cable modems with varying extra features.

See if Comcast has a list of compatible modems.
By the way, if the wifi features were what made you think of the R6120 – AC1200 is a wifi speed designator, R6120 is the model number – the C6220 is the cable modem with the same claims for its wifi.

A Netgear model number "Cnnnn" denotes a cable modem+router (gateway)
unit, not a "cable modem". A Netgear model number "CMnnn" denotes a
cable modem (only) unit.
