multiple devices
hi - how many devices dos the RBS 40 handle? Just curious if i should upgrade?
thanks..wifiblues
Is it worth the upgrade?
That's a loaded question. I have 50+ devices on my network and was using a RBK53 system without any issues. I wouldn't have upgrade to AX unless I was just doing it to learn.
The RBK43 system is a pretty solid/decent system. If its providing your coverage, the upgrade might not help.
As well as your isp speeds. If you've got 200mbps service, the RBK43 system will handle that easily.
if you're running gigabit speeds, then the bottleneck in the system will be the RBK43's backhaul (wireless connection between router/satellites).
And if you're looking at upgrading, I'd avoid the dual band mesh AX system. Your current system would outperform it.

RBS40 is "just" a satellite. Technically, Netgear does talk of 250 devices for all Orbi versions. Tell us more about the upgrade intentions.

Hi schumako -
it's the RBR40 - 1 router and two sateliltes.
good to know about the 250 devices.
considering upgrading for family of four to stream college courses and work zooms.
we will have about 15 devices, not all running at the same time, but probably 6 at the same time.
