N600 Internet keeps dropping WIFI and Ethernet
For the last few weeks, my internet connection will drop for a few minutes a few times each night. When my connection drops, its both the WIFI connection and the Ethernet connection to my PC.
Typically when this issue comes up, I reset my N600 WNDR3400v3 router and CM500 modem, but its still dropping. My ISP (xfinity) hasn't reported any outages during this time.
Symptoms:
Internet disconnects for a few minutes and comes back, it may disconnect bout 15 minutes to an hour after coming back, or just stay connected for the rest of the night. Neither the router or the modem are too hot, and all lights are green on both devices except for the lowest light on the CM500 modem, which flashes amber.
What I've tried:
Power off both router and modem for 30 to 60 seconds and power on.
I've updated the firmware on the N600 WNDR3400v3 router to version V1.0.1.42_1.0.68
I haven't tried the factory reset yet out of fear of resetting a few smart bulbs and smart plugs in my home.
Any and all input is appreciated, thanks in advance

The CM500 isn't that new. 2015. But if it matches what the ISP delivers, fine. It has Gigabit Ethernet.
the lowest light on the CM500 is the ethernet led.
If its blinking amber, its prossessing traffic. Something might have been rebooted.
A screensnip of the cm500 cable connection page and event logs might help
