Trouble shooting only comes up with my router has a invalid IP address. I can't seem to change it and it will not connect to the internet.

Thank you. I am back connected to the internet. I downloaded the latest firmware and was able to get it loaded with my laptop using my phone as a Hotspot. I then reset my router and rebooted the modem. I don't know what step it was that fixed the problem but it is working now. Thank you for the help.
P.S. I did reboot the modem and the router as usual when I first realized that I had a problem. Up to that point there was no problem with my internet service and no notification that I needed to update the firmware on my router.

Don't expect much, the WNDR3400 dates back to 2010. The "latest" update was in 2016.
