N750 connects but no internet
I ran an ethernet cable from my router to a streaming device in another part of my house. While the streaming device indicates that there is a wi-fi signal but needs to be told that it is wired or wireless. When I indicated wireless, the device refused to stream content. When I indicated wired, it asked for SSID data. Please advise.
Hi rschweber,
1. Please indicate the specific model number (i.e. WNDR4300).
2. What is the firmware version of the router?
3. What streaming device are you connecting?
4. Are there other wired and wireless devices that are already connected and working?
5. Please make sure that the port LED for the corresponding LAN port on the router is where the streaming device is connected is lit.
6. Have you tried using another Ethernet cable?
7. If you are using the an Ethernet cable, the wired option should work.
8. If you select wireless and get prompted for an SSID and/or password, that should be your WiFi name and password.
