I have a seagate 4 TB backup hard drive that it will not show on the Netgear c6300. Thank you for any walkthroughs. Appreciate it.

Thank you for your insight into how to submit a person for being a jerk. I submitted you to inappropriate content to the moderator due to your lack of caring and proper demeanor, and including a link that swears at and demand someone looking for help in a community forum. Furthermore the only reason anybody normally post in here is because they did all the basic methods that you tried to include and are looking for an elevated way of problem solving from basic issues. An adult at some point in your life should have told you if you don't have anything nice to say you don't say anything at all at home in person on their net or anywhere else in your life. Any further comments from you will result in another submission of inappropriate content to the moderator. Good luck in the future trying to be a kinder individual in the world.

I'm sorry that you feel upset, but I'm afraid there is one flaw in your response. You say:

Unfortunately, that is not always true.
Too many people give up after 10 minutes and turn to the manufacturer's website for help. Then they turn up here with vague questions that contain far too little information for anyone to help. You might be surprised at how many people, unlike you, don't even know what the model of their device is. Some don't even know what sort of Internet service they get.
Most of the users who try to help with these questions try to be sensitive and to understand where the questioner is coming from, but it isn't always easy.
I forgot to point you in the direction of the manual for your device:
Visit the support pages:

and feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
You may have done this already, but I can't tell from your message.
- warefamily359Nov 04, 2020AspirantThank you I do not like to make overtly hasty generalizations as that is what people gravitate to and miss the overall issue. Other helpful users pointed to the same things you mentioned and this wherebI was a week ago. Two weeks ago I was in my manual scrutinizing it for solutions. Looks like there is a conflict between what seagates will work with the c6300 series and which will not. Seems like an issue for R and D to fix in the future. Thank you for being a decent person.

Not really. But the only person here with a possibility of
investigating what might be the actual cause seems uninterested in doing
so (or unable to do so).> [...] Seems like an issue for R and D to fix in the future. [...]
I wouldn't expect much serious activity until you provide some basic
information.> [...] Thank you for being a decent person.
He's good at that, just as he's also good at repeating previous
suggestions (including "check the documentation").Sadly, saying only that you were "in [your] manual scrutinizing it for
solutions" conveys no useful information about what you actually did, or
what happened when you did it. See "not a useful problem description
[...]", above. Nor does it answer the one critical question which has
been asked repeatedly to no effect. Without your help, the non-psychics
in your audience are left to guess, and I've grown tired of wasting my
time on what appears to be a hopeless project.
