Netgear G54/N150 wireless router
I recently reset my G54/N150 because my pc was hacked. I then tried to login to change to a new password and ssid I received a new network name and password...but I used my previous password and could...
instead of wasting time on that device. I'd replace it.
The N150,G54 versions are significantly old, haven't had security updates in a while, and are very slow.
Its time to upgrade several generations before wasting time messing with it.
I have had no problems connecting this G54/N150 to either my Windows 8 laptop or my new Win11 laptop. It still connects readily so I will stick with using it till I find its time to replace it. My problem is: after resetting it I am assigned an automatic NETGEAR SSID and also a generated password. . I would like to know how I can change this SSID and password to one of my own creation. Is this possible? and if so, what are the steps to do this as I am not having any success trying to do so.
