Netgear R6250 can't bridge from other Netgear router?
Hi My internet provider provided me with what I expect is a customized version of the R6250 called a Netgear C6250 EMR. This router connects to the internet and is working fine. To extend this n...

Can you try changing out of AUTO to a fixed channel?
Can you answer my question about the Region setting?

That would be step 3 on page 96 of the manual.
Perhaps the best way is to do this stepwise with all the parametres one step at a time?
Yeah, maybe start by doing a factory reset and then go through the procedure starting on page 95 of the manual.

I've followed the procedure 3 times with the same result: None
Is there any chance both routers after setup are using the same IP address or is there another explanation that I get no result?
The only way I should be able to if the router is wirelessly bridged would be on the network map, right?

It's unlikely that both routers are using the same IP address.
I'm wondering if the R6250 can't see the Wi-Fi channel used by the C6250? Are you able to change the Region setting on the R6250's Wireless settings? You could also try changing the Wi-Fi channel on the C6250. Or try using 2.4 GHz.

If the latter, then try logging directly into the C6250 EMR (enter its IP address into a browser) and look at the network map, there.

The WIFI channels are set to AUTO.
And I'm using the routers own network map through www.routerlogin.net. Since both both routers are netgear they use that and I can logon to them one at a time on the dedicated networks (when not birdged that is)

Hi martinolafsen,
Is the location of the bridged R6250 still getting a good signal from the 5GHz band of the C6250? You can check that by using another wireless device that can detect the 5GHz signal.

The location should be no problem. They are separated by maximun 10 meters and i get good reception on all other devices on both th 2,4 and 5 ghz networks.

I've set th 2,4 ghz to channel 7 and the 5 ghz to channel 44 on both routers
I've chosen the 2,4 ghz network for the bridge as I'm using the 5 ghz for many other devices
Both routers are set to Europe as Region as I'm based in Copenhagen, Denmark

It have done the trick since the R6250 now is showing on my network map!
I'll have to check printing for tomorrow though to see if it finally is working. if it works I assume it was a channel setting that needed alignment?

It has however kicked of my Apple Airport Express for some reason? Perhaps that was connected to another port?

Glad to hear that you got the R6250 working. Yes, the C6250 was probably operating on a channel that was not compatible with the R6250.
How is your Airport Express connected to the network? It, too, may need to operate on a certain set of channels. You may have to experiment and find a channel that works for both the R6250 and Airport Express.
