Netgear Router R6400v2

I just upgraded to a gig internet and this router is killing my download by in half. Is there something i need to do so this router will not kill my download speed or is my router shot. Please any advise would help me.

    Measured how?

     

    If it is wifi, maybe that is as fast as your wifi clients can manage.

     

    As you have changed your Internet service, you should reset the router and set it up from scratch to erase any settings left over from the previous service.

     

    Remember, the R6400v2 is a six year old device that predates these fast Internet services.

    since you upgraded your firmware, factory reset it. 

    During the install, make sure to leave qos, access control, parental controls, and traffic monitoring all disabled. 

    Also, you won't hit gigabit over wifi, just wired.
