Have you ruled out that it might be your cellphones and/or laptop that think you have migrated?
They seem more likely candidates than a router that has never left the country. As it is, your router is not involved in Google's searches and where it finds ads.
If this is a Windows laptop, have you checked it for Language & Region? Not knowing which version of Windows you might have you'll have to track down the setting yourself.
Then there is Google itself and you cached data.
As to the router, it has region settings for the wifi. You don't say where you are. In the USA it is fixed. Elsewhere you can change it in the Wireless Settings Screen Fields.
That's it. No other geographical settings according to the manual.
