New router can't connect to internet
Hi, I got this new router and I want to replace my old one. I connected the cables I was using for my old router, and connected to this new one(this includes 1 white ethernet cable from the wall to p...

"5268AC"? That (almost) answers one of the many questions. What
about the others? Look for "?".> [...] I got a 2 month used router from someone I know, so I'm trying
> to switch to that one.I doubt that it's suitable. As I understand it, the co-ax connector
on an 5268AC is used to connect to some old-style client devices. The
co-ax connector on a C6250 is used to connect to the (cable-TV) ISP.
Not even similar. Also, because you're not using the "DSL Broadband" port, the cable to
the "ONT Broadband" port (from your "the wall" I'd guess?) must be your
connection to your ISP, and a C6250 has no Ethernet WAN/Internet port,
making it useless as a replacement for a 5268AC.Nice try, but you seem to be in a square-peg/round-hole situation.
You want a friend with a plain-old router (with an Ethernet WAN/Internet
port), not a cable modem+router (with a co-ax WAN/Internet port).

Why? What was your "my old one"? Maker? Model number? Who/what is
your ISP?

"the wall"? What's behind your "the wall"? What's "port4"?

"ont"? "coax" from what to what? Your "(unspecified) "my old one"
had a co-ax connection?
Your description seems to include three Ethernet cables. At least
one of us is confused.

If I had been using more than two Ethernet ports with my
(unspecified) "old one", then I might have chosen a different model with
more Ethernet ports.
> What should I do?
Start with a less confused/confusing problem description?
- Az1004Jul 15, 2020AspirantSorry here's a picture of the old router. It's an att uverse 5628ac. The wifi and ethernet would randomly disconnect, and I got a 2 month used router from someone I know, so I'm trying to switch to that one.
