Nighthawk EX7500 extender only 3 lights, no speed lights

I have owned a AC1750/R6400v2 router for about 3 years now. Recently purchased a Nighthawk EX7500 extender. When powered on and connected to the wifi network, the router link lights up blue as well as the power and WPS light; but 2.4ghz and 5ghz don't light @ all. When I connected to the registration page for the extender, it says it is connected. However when I login to my router, it doesn't show the extender as being a connected device.

Any ideas? Why isn't my extender connecting?
My wifi is setup as WPA2 PSK.
