No QoS controls to be found? AND slow wired speed relative to modem
Where are the QoS controls for this router? The QoS tab does not exist where all online links indicate for other models.Nor does the long button to create a QoS rule. QoS is also not mentioned anywhe...

Think I found the answer to the degraded speed. The modem LAN light is green when a 1Gb connection is made, as when I am wired directly to the modem. When I wire the router to the modem, the LAN light is amber indicating 10/100 or 100mbps connection. Someone else with the same situation [but different, parallel equip] was told he needed to get a gigabit router so the modem LAN is green, not amber, indicating a 10/100/1000 port. He did that and it fixed his problem. Am returning the R6080 for an AC1200 R6230. Hope that will do the trick. AND the 6230 also has QoS controls.

There is a manual for the R6080 somewhere at the end of this link:
>>>> R6080 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<
As you found, the LAN ports on the device run at 100 Mbps, see page 121.
I am surprised that Netgear still sells devices with that specification.
There is a manual for the R6230 is here:
>>>> R6230 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<
Read about QoS on page 37.

Thanks Michael. I downloaded the 6230 manual last night after I saw the problem and started looking for gigabit routers. Found the 6230 on Amazon and before ordering I downloaded the manual to make sure the specs on Amazon were correct -- that it had the 10/100/1000 LAN ports AND QoS controls! Wasn'[t about to make the same mistake twice!
Paid for same day shipping so it should be here any time... soon as I get it up and working will pack up the 6080 to return to BestBuy tomorrow....
LIVE AND LEARN. :)

For future readers that might find this thread with the same problem I had, indeed the new gigabit router fixed the issue. I now get the exact same speed wired through the AC1200 R6230 that I get wired directly to modem (117mbps with service rated for 100mbps via Spectrum). And the LAN light on Zoom 5730 is green, not amber like with the R6080 and it's 10/100 ports.
Success. :)

Forgot to mention, wifi speed on R6080 ranged around 40mbps, once getting 54.
R6230 Wifi speed 75mbps. :)
Couldn't be happier.
