A router in your home is not going to provide wifi more than a few feet outside the building, if that, certainly not to a doctor's appointments unless you live in the same building as the doctor.
The WNR2000v5 is an ageing (2014 for V5 with its first version in 2008) router. It has very old technology, both for wifi and for wired connections.

OKay. That makes sense on why I can't connect online outside my apartment building. So you suggest that I should update my router with a newer one that has a wider ranger for wifi or to extend it?

A new router will not make your wifi go much further than your apartment. That's not what wifi is for. You mobile phone does that using your cellular service.
But most modern mobile phones will connect to any wifi service that allows them to login. That has nothing to do with your router. You need to do it on the phone.

OH okay. I do have wifi with my smartphone. But I don't know how to extend it further if remotely possible. I guess I should call my cell provider then.
