Oct 03, 2016null attacks after update to firmware version: V1.0.4.6_10.0.76 (R6300v2)
I have a Netgear R6300v2 router. In my router logs I was getting the usual DOS entries, but since updating to firmware version: V1.0.4.6_10.0.76 the DOS entries are all like:
[DoS attack: (null)] (-1085517272) attack packets in last 20 sec from ip [31.13.90.6], Sunday, Oct 02,2016 00:35:41
Is this 'normal' and is the firewall continuing to block these attempts?
Hi Retired_Member,
Yes, they are normal and that is the indicator that it is blocking the attempts.

Hi Dexter
Thanks for that. It has put my mind at rest.

I have had these null DoS attacks as well and it was not allowing me access to get to the Netgear Community Forum. I turned off the UpNp service on the router and it works like a champ once again.

[DoS attack: (null)] (-1085517272) attack packets in last 20 sec from ip [23.60.136.70], Wednesday, Oct 12,2016This has been happening ever since I upgraded to the newest firmware for the R6300v2 firmware - I have also enabled Wireless Card Access list because after having a lot of neighbors trying to get free wifi it gets old, now with the filtering on - they don't bother me :) But I have seen these attacks being generated from of all things, my smart tv .. kind of silly seeing DoS attacks from a TV of all things. The above DoS attacks have been from outside of my local network.

Hi Ninja
These null attacks seemed to replace the 'usual' entries and changed to null when I upgraded the firmware. My internet connection also seemed to be slower also with the browser giving a message 'waiting for....'. I reverted to the previous version and all is back to normal fast speed.
