Orbi voice with ANY router RBS40V

My apologies if this has already been brought up and answered but I am new here and haven’t found anything via search.
I have the orbi voice for any router and am using the router with my cable company. It’s purpose was to extend my WiFi, which after turning on and syncing with my WiFi, it was successful!! my issue is the nighthawk app that is required to further set up the orbi... it was fine when orbi first plugged in and did what it had to do. The issue comes when orbi announces “ready for set up follow instructions on nighthawk app”. (Bc it’s not used w an orbi router). So I go to the app and it detects my orbi but it says it has issues with connecting to my WiFi.... my WiFi is perfectly connected on everything, yet the app can’t connect?? What am I doing wrong here or is the app glitching and needs an update? Thanks in advance
