Ping spikes due to router
For a few months I have been having ping spikes. Normal ping is about 32 if server is close by. When connected straight to the modem and not the router, I used ping google.com -n 1000 and found almost no spikes. When connected to the router via both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, ping spiked up to the 70s quite often. And every 30 or so seconds into the hundreds. When connected to the router via network cable, I did not see the same stability as the modem. Ping spiked the same as with WiFi.
I believe this narrows my problem down to the router. Are there any settings to change to fix this?
