Possibly Wrong Firmware on R6400?

Went ahead and downloaded the latest v1 update and everything seems good and up to date now, seems like somehow an older firmware update for v2 was installed and it prevented new updates from appearing.
Netgear should change their router update scan to scan for latest update based on router model to prevent things like this from happening.
Seems like a pretty big security vulnerability.
Yeah I haven't had an available update in months, found this out when netgear sent out an emergency patch email notice in december and I had no updates no matter how many times I checked. Still on the same version of firmware.

The box states r6400 v2 while mine just says r6400.
