Problems connecting with MAC filter (AirCard 815S)

I set up MAC (allow) filter and my devices were unable to connect to the router. I tried and tried and it did not help. As I was hoping, I went to sleep and in the morning the devices were already connected to the router. Nice, but fragile like 30 years old tv. Today I added one more MAC address and I have the same story. Hopefully in a couple of hours the device will have connected to the router. I have one more device that I need to connect to the router. This cannot be how NetGear intended, is it?

  • Your subject says AirCard 815S. Many questions apply to just about all routers but in this case you might do better to seek help in the place where they support the AirCard 815S Mobile Hotspot. That's probably here:

    Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
