R6050 as AP
Several 6050 as AP posts, but none I can find with this problem. Trying to connect my 6050 as an AP. I can log in, get to ADVANCED>Wireless AP, and hit APPLY. Progress bar gets to about 90%, stays...

Most likely due to the IP address has changed for the router after you configured AP mode and hit apply, the router reboots and expects to get a new IP address from the host router the R series router is connected too.

Try a Static IP address Configuration for AP mode?

Yeah, that's the web site I used. Maybe I don't understand. Do I need to change the 6050 IP address to match the Asus (e.g., 10.10.10.1) or the 6050 SSID or both?

Try setting the static IP address on the R series router to 10.10.10.60 for AP mode. Gateway should be what you have set on the host router, normally 255.255.255.0 and Gateway would be 10.10.10.1. DNS can be same as 10.10.10.1 or any custom DNS if you want to use something different.

Here is what I've learned. Changing SSID on my android phone to Netgearxx. Open Nighthawk. 'Set up new.' Unplug modem, blah, blah. eventually I get 'can't connect to device.'
On my PC, go to Netgearxx as network. Go to 192.168.1.1. Get to router screen. Login. Advanced>Wifi as AP. Change from default to 10.10.10.1 for gateway, 255.255.255.0 as mask, 10.10.10.60 for device, and 10.10.10.1 as DNS. Apply. 'Connection timed out.' Still using Netgearxx. Did that 5x. On 4th time, the page froze and had to reset 6050 and start over.
Modem works perfectly. Asus router works perfectly. What am I missing?
